The Sabbath/Friendship Package program was developed for:

• Outlying and isolated members who are unable to attend Sabbath Services.

• Members who have missed a recent Sabbath.

• Widows and fatherless.

Sabbath/Friendship Packages can be done as a local church project, by individual families or individual members. These mailings act as a great advertising instrument for a local church, for the Feast of Tabernacles and/or for the Intercontinental Church of God in general. It is also practicing good religion (Matthew 25:27-40; James 1:27 and 1 John 3:17-19).

For example, a local church congregation may have developed relationships with widows and isolated members in outlying areas, neighboring states or even around the world. The Sabbath Package can work to keep lines of communication open and give people connection to a local church or local church family.

Generally, these packages are sent out weekly, but some also mail them bi-weekly and monthly depending on the specific needs or the resources of the local church or family.

• Flyers announcing local events at the church.
   
• Postcards depicting scenes of your church city or region.
   
• Greeting cards.
   
• Sermon tapes or outlines from Mr. Armstrong’s sermons or those of the local minister.
   
• Recent photos from church events.
   
• Printout of pages from the ICG web sites (national and local).
   
• Printouts of the National Prayer List.
   
• Copies of booklets printed from the web sites.
