Hello to brethren and co workers,

The GTA program last Sunday, 27 April, featured a program posing the question "Is God a Mystery?" dealing with the pagan and false concept of a hypostasis, "triune" God. The audio sermon offered was "Must You Believe In The Trinity To Be Saved?" Again we also offered the excellent, additional item of the DVD sermon, "False Prophets", to those who called. We had 42 requests for the week with 13 new contacts.

The latest edition of Twenty First Century Watch is now available and will be produced and posted to our Australian TCW mailing list over the weekend.

Locally, the news that has taken up most space in the last two days was the catastrophic collision on Sydney Harbor early Thursday morning between an overloaded half cabin runabout, traveling at speed, with a trawler. At about 3.00am the trawler was heading down harbor toward the Heads. The runabout, overloaded with 14 passengers was returning from Watson's Bay and a "party". Rounding Bradley's Head (a bit of a blind corner at the best of times, let alone 3.00am at night), it ploughed into the oncoming trawler. As a result six people on the runabout were killed including an American girl. Looking at the damage to the trawler, it is plain that the smaller boat, being overloaded (licensed for 8 only) and traveling at speed, was down in the stern and high at the bow. So high the boat's skipper did not see the trawler. To top it off the boat had been stolen - taken by the owner's nephew who apparently knew where the key was hidden. Sad indeed, and a foolish waist of young lives.

During the week World Youth Day organizers admitted that only half of overseas registered participants had made application for a visa. This was the first official sign that the greatly touted event may not be the economic boon promised and may fall well short of expected attendances. Nonetheless, the "pilgrim's" sleep out kit for Randwick Racecourse was on display. One man tents and sleeping bag. No wonder that on the same news report several managers of five star hotels, who had kept that week in July clear, were lamenting empty rooms in the offing. Someone forgot to tell them that youthful "pilgrims" tend to travel on a shoestring.

Recent news reports indicate the worm may be turning, just slightly, on the global warming enthusiasts. It seems there have been some grudging admissions that the end may not be as nigh as predicted. Apparently some pesky cold ocean currents in the northern hemisphere have upset some modeling of global disaster and put the cause back a few years. Recent observation of the sun show that sunspot activity has almost ceased for the current cycle. Might that explain some of the cool change? Global warmies are having none of it.

Well, it is finally getting cooler in Sydney and very pleasant sleeping weather. Good weather for a Sabbath rest.

All the best,

Murray Allatt
Sydney
