How To Use This Document
This document was designed for the Church Locator Office, which is a sub-division of the ICG Web Site Office. The purpose of this document is to 1. Ascertain where the person asking for a local church lives. 2) to ascertain the closest ICG church or fellowship group. Once these two facts are gathered, we can go to the Cut and Paste Church Information Database (The Response Database) document and sent the person the information he or she seeks.
I recommend that anyone doing this job obtain a Mapquest.com Road Atlas (hard copy). It is designed to work hand-in-hand with a certain portion of the Mapquest.com web site. Each map in the Road Atlas and even the inset maps have a key number. You can type this key number into a special window at the Mapquest site and immediately get the map that matches the page in the Atlas. Even better, the site has search windows for Address, City, Zip Code and even phone Area Code. Simply put this information in the search window and get a map. We should be able to find approximately 100% of our information from this site. Even so, you will find a grid of other sources on each map page.
This document has a map of every state, Canadian province and country where we have church towns. Various indicators (in red) are used (red boxes, lines or dots). Each State map, where we have an ICG church, you will see a list of all states, provinces or countries where we possibly have other ICG churches. Simple click on any of those entries and go to that state map. This document is full of navigation buttons to go from one place to another.
To find a map by key number (as found in the hardcopy of the Mapquest Road Atlas AND throughout this document):
Following are the links to the search windows at Mapquest as described above:
Search by Address: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/main.adp Click on button, “Big Map” Search by City: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/city.adp Click on button, “Big Map” Search by Zip Code: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/zipcode.adp Click on button, “Big Map” Search by Phone Area Code: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/areacode.adp Click on button, “Big Map”
These links are posted on each map page in this document (except for a couple of foreign locations).
So: 1) Find where the person is. 2) Find the closest church. E-mail the person the information from the Cut and Paste database.
