Note: You
may have heard about a virus alert where you get information
about bogus notifications of cards from "a friend",
"partner", "family member" and other nebulous terms.
All legitimate e-card sites, such as these above either send
the card in the body of the e-mail or give instructions to
pick up the card at the web site. In both cases you
will see your name and the name of the sender in the
notification. Further, most of these sites have
warnings posted alerting you to these bogus notifications.
Do not answer any e-card notification that does not mention
you by name. If you receive a notification with your
name and are still concerned, notify the sender to verify
that he or she has sent a card. |
